Various Volunteer Roles | [May 2020 -Current]
FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a global non-profit organization that aims to inspire young people to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
Contributed over 700 volunteer hours in the past six years as a mentor, judge, and event volunteer within the local FIRST Robotics community, supporting youth development and engagement in STEM.
Supported robotics outreach by coordinating with a previous employer to connect students' interest in robotics with real-world STEM careers, helping bridge the gap between education and industry.
Served as Communications Coordinator for FIRST Alberta, leading social media strategy and doubling both online presence and engagement to strengthen community awareness and student participation.
Lead Mentor | [August 2023- April 2024]
FRC Team 9449 is a high school robotics team competing in the FIRST Robotics Competition, providing technical education and mentorship opportunities to a diverse group of young students, including Indigenous youth.Β
Recruited as Lead Mentor for a new team of 14 students and 5 mentors, building operational structure, technical training programs, and a sustainable foundation for long-term team success.
Created an inclusive learning environment that combined technical instruction in coding, CAD, and electrical systems with personal mentorship, building students' confidence and inspiring them to pursue STEM education and careers.
Oversaw a $10,000β$20,000 budget, ensuring efficient resource management for robot construction, competition travel, and future team growth, with the team continuing to thrive beyond my direct involvement.
President & Technical Team Founder | [May 2019 - May 2022]
Alberta Collegiate Robotics (AC Robotics) is a mechatronics club and technical team at the University of Calgary. Technical teams include projects such as RoboCup small-sized league soccer robots, custom robotic quadruped robot dog, sumo-bots, and other robotics projects.
Formed and led a technical team of over 50+ students, creating a foundation for the first robotics-focused technical team at the University of Calgary, developing over 7+ partnerships, and raising ~$10,000 in sponsorship for technical projects.
Coordinated with various STEM organizations and team members to run 2 mentorship programs, 5 workshops, and 3 outreach events in Calgary. Contributing over 150 hours a year in club organization, meetings, and mentoring.
Vice President Operations | [April 2019 - April 2021]
The Engineering Students' Society is the official student government body which represents over 3000 engineering students at the University of Calgary. We run a variety of social, academic, and professional events and services in order to support students and create a better student experience.
